The First Kalima “Tayyab”
The cornerstone of the Islamic faith is Kalima Tayyab, the first Kalima. It is composed of two primary sections:
- Tawheed states that Allah is the only god and affirms His oneness.
- Risalat: Declares the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to be the last messenger.
Every Muslim must believe in both in order to have faith and guidance both here on Earth and in the hereafter.
What is the meaning of “La ilaha illallah”?
“La ilaha illallah muhammadur rasulullah” means:
“There is none worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
Who Created the Six Kalimas?
The Quran and hadith do not reference all six Kalimas at once. Scholars later collected them to explain Islamic doctrine. The first Kalima comes from Quranic verses, while the others are supplications.
Kalima Tayyab in Hadith
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
“Whoever dies bearing witness to ‘La ilaha illallah’ and that I am Allah’s Messenger with certainty will be forgiven.”
When to Recite Kalima?
Reciting Kalima on a regular basis is suggested for Muslims. It’s crucial to remind the dying to say the following at the moment of death:
“La ilaha illallah.”
Benefits of Reciting the First Kalima
- Tawheed: Confirms the Oneness of Allah.
- Life’s purpose is to promote obedience to Allah and His directives.
- Forgiveness: Brings about Allah’s kindness and pardon.
- Reciting it sincerely ensures that you will enter Paradise.
