Surah Al Hijr

Surah Al Hijr is the 15th chapter of the Holy Quran. The meaning of the title is “The Rocky Tract”. It was revealed in Mecca. It has 99 verses and 6 rukus. Surah Al Hijr is located in juz’14.

The Surah begins by praising Allah as the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth. It then describes the punishment that befell the people of Thamud and ‘Ad due to their disbelief and transgressions. The Surah highlights the importance of heeding the prophets’ warnings and the consequences of rejecting their message. It recounts the stories of various prophets, including Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and Prophet Lut (Lot). It emphasizes the consequences of disbelief and the importance of following the guidance of Allah.
